Divorce can be an incredibly stressful time for a multitude of reasons, but one area where advisors, in collaboration with a divorce attorney, may be asked to weigh in is on the Financial Side.  This presentation will walk through the financial parameters of divorce in Georgia, including equitable property/distribution, how to financially prepare for divorce, financial planning as part of the divorce proceedings and what financial steps to take post-divorce. 

At Corient, Amanda Valenti serves as an Associate Partner, the Regional Director of Wealth Planning for the Southeast and is a Wealth Advisor located in our Atlanta office. She started her career at UBS, where she learned the complete financial planning process on a team that led with financial planning.  While at UBS, Amanda was introduced to Divorce Financial Planning and the important role that financial planning plays during a divorce process. Prior to joining legacy firm Brightworth, Amanda worked at Oxford Financial Group and Lenox Wealth Advisors, where she prepared comprehensive financial plans in a leadership capacity. 

Amanda is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois Chicago. She also completed a Financial Planning certificate program at Northwestern University.

Originally from Chicago, Amanda and her husband, George, live with their two children and two German Shepherds in Fayetteville, GA. Amanda enjoys travel, photography, reading and staying active.
